As of September I am now the Drama Director for a high school here in Michigan. This has offered a new and unique challenge. Selfishly I must say that I am learning/re-learning a lot about acting. It is amazing how much you can learn from teaching.

The best part is that I get to work in the field yet still have time to pursue my one true passion. I have had a few auditions as of late, one that, specifically, could offer a great career move as well as getting to work with some amazing people that seem to have the true meaning of movie-making in mind.

So we shall see.

<![CDATA['Nikki & Eli']]>Tue, 17 Feb 2009 10:34:36 +0700http://kennyjackjames.weebly.com/1/post/2009/02/nikkieli.htmlJust within the last two weeks I was cast in 'Nikki & Eli' shooting in Royal Oak Michigan. This has promise to be a very strong and well done short. It is a Gulley Brothers Production being directed by Rob Gulley and I will be acting along side Grace Anne Rowan. This will be my first East Michigan based shoot.

<![CDATA[New news]]>Wed, 28 Jan 2009 20:22:03 +0700http://kennyjackjames.weebly.com/1/post/2009/01/new-news.htmlIt appears that some good fortune has fallen on a movie that Ryan Thompson and I had made, with both of us producing and writing it (with Adam Goron),Zombie Apocalypse. Though things are still in the process it appears the movie has been picked up. A distribution company has picked up the movie and will be, if all goes according to plan, distributing it in theatres in Mexico and Germany. There is also talks of a release on rentals and also purchase copies. Further more a comic is in the works that will feature a prequel story about Miller (my character) which will be sold in comic book stores. You can see information regarding the movie at www.zombieapocalypsemovie.com. Hopefully more good news to follow.

<![CDATA[New work and first blog]]>Mon, 26 Jan 2009 21:12:00 +0700http://kennyjackjames.weebly.com/1/post/2009/01/new-work-and-first-blog.htmlThings are once again starting to move. It was a difficult time moving from Grand Rapids to the Detroit area after being away for eight years. Just yesterday (Sunday, Jan. 25th) I took part in a small shoot called 'Lost Whiskey' for Phil Worfle on his 30th birthday back in Grand Rapids. It was an amazing to work with some people I have not seen in a few months as well as working in such a professional atmosphere.

I also have gone to my first audition and callback in the Detroit area recently. It was a great opportunity to meet some new people in an area where the market is, as of now, so foreign to me.
